We grew out from the need for improved processes and technologies in the dairy and juice industry. Protehel Ltd. was founded by D. Maričić and R. Veselinović on 17.11.1995. Their great experience in the field of process technology, techniques and electronics gained in our country and abroad they carried to the all employed engineers and technicians.
Today with more than 50 employees, Protehel is a leader in the design and manufacture of devices and systems in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industrie. Our products are technically and technologically developed according to the latest solutions and fulfill HACCP standard. Years of experience and work with the largest companies of food industry in our country led us to first place in the field of process engineering and automation of production.

CIP AUTOMATION
CIP AUTOMATION 2/7

We offer you production, installation and maintenance of completely automated CIP (Cleaning n Place) process with one, two or more washing lines with automated dosage of acid and soda. CIP is process that serves for washing and cleansing of technological elements without their uninstalling.
All of the classic CIP types have three storage tanks: with cold water, acid and alkali, and there are systems with additional hot water tank as well. We construct CIP process systems with water, acid and soda rejection after the washing, as well as systems with recycled water tanks. In these systems third-washing water is used for the following first water, and in that way water saving is achieved without the loss of quality. Besides, soda and acid with concentration that is good enough after the washing is returned to the storage tanks for CIP, while the bad concentration is rejected. Desired path to the washing lines is achieved with valve batteries, and, in that manner, certain fluid is brought into the system.
Line pumps press fluid into the system, while centrifugal pumps manage fluid circulation in tank for acid and alkali. Operator is left with possibility to choose the washing programme. It is possible to choose between complete washing and rinsing. Complete washing consists of rinsing, washing with acid, washing, washing with alkali and final washing. It is used in the end of the working day. Rinsing is used while turning from one product to another, and it does not include washing with acid.

Every programme is defined with the duration, fluid temperatures, as well as with acid and alkali concentrations. In the system there are measuring of level, temperature, and concentration in every tank. Every probe is protected to the highest degree, and therefore resistible to the effect of aggressive fluids. Flat heat exchangers are used so that the fluid could be heated up during the washing itself, not only during the preparation. Vapour supply to the heat exchangers is achieved with valves with continual regulation, which enables precise preservation of the specified fluid temperature. All the signals from probe and pumps are forwarded to the central PLC, which communicates with touch terminal. All data relevant to the system could be seen on the terminal, while choosing washing programme, diagram generation etc. is also enabled. PLC also communicates with SCADA application on the PC. Advantages of this governing mode are:
- Constant monitoring of temperature, concentration and level in all tanks, as well as on the washing line
- Maintenance of constant, beforehand-specified, mentioned sizes
- Continual governing by vapour supply, valve-openness monitoring
- Higher-quality washing with fluid parameters provided in CIP preparatory phase
- Washing start is ineffective if washing parameters are not optimised for notation and documentation of the washing

PROMIX MIXER
PROMIX MIXER 3/7

PROMIX mixers are units developed by Protehel experts. It is used for addition of products, such as fruit, juices and fruit mash into milk or dairy products (fermented or raw cheeses). The capacity of the device is adaptable to your needs with the percentage of additives to 50%.
Dosage of additions in the main product is done automatically in desired percentage, by using PLC and frequently controlled wheeled pumps. Blending of two products is done by dynamic or static mixers, which enable maximal coalescence and excellent texture of the final product.
Protehel has produced such mixers for:

PASTEURISERS
PASTEURISERS 4/7

By pasteurisation of the products, extermination of at least 95% of microbes is accomplished. Depending on temperature and heating duration, the shelf life the derived product could be up to several months, without quality loss.
What characterises our pasteurisers is great reliability, flow rate up to 20000 lit/h, governing and following the process by means of operator panel, as well as joining one or more pasteurisers to SCADA system. We enable centralised governing system with PC that is isolated from the industry complex. Their washing, as well as a line to the filling machines and tanks (CIP), is completely automated and simple. We satisfy all your requirements concerning automation and process control.

PlATE PASTEURISER
The main part of pasteuriser is heat exchanger, which consists of large number of panels, through which run, separately, cold water, product and hot water. They hand down heat to each other, which saves considerable part of the energy. Apart from that, the pasteuriser includes heat holder through which fluids, fluid pumps, cabinet and controlling and process following equipment. They are used for pasteurisation of products with small viscosity.

TUBULAR PASTEURISER
Apart from flat pasteurisers, our company manufactures tubular pasteurisers, which are used in case of manufacture of juice with pulp or sterilising products in high temperature (UHT).

Our company also offers services of repair and maintenance of homogenisers, separators, bactofuge, triblenders, tanks, blenders… We offer all the mentioned activities and service either separately or as package tour, as per parole "keys in hand" from an idea and preliminary planning, across project development, revision, delivery of equipment, pre- and on-site installation, examination and putting into motion.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE 6/7

Our engineers and technicians are developing software applications for the systems of local and remote control and supervision, for PLC and Industrial Bus hardware platforms based on OPC standard. Programmable logic controllers (PLC) are units which replace sequential relay stations for the purpose of control and supervision of the process. Systems with PLC controllers are considerably more compact, flexible and reliable, simpler for supervision and maintenance. They have capability of connecting to Ethernet and control via internet. Connecting to GSM modem enables supervision and governing of displaced processes. Wide range of input/output modules: digital, analogue (voltage, circuit, term elements), counter, time, relay… OPC standard represents a way to resolve problems of integration various hardware and software systems. SCADA enables quick and simple development of control and supervising applications which have capability of data exchange via OPC server.
Likewise, if the application is created in a way that data exchange with measuring control units is performed via OPC server, such application could, with minimal modifications, quickly adjust to data exchange with hardware of different manufacturers. Manufacture of applications based on OPC server facilitates construction of an open system, which could be expanded by addition of new supervisory control applications, or integrated with business information system of the company.

OPC is based on the following technologies: OLE, Active X, COM (Component Object Model), and DCOM (Distributed Component Object Model). It is available to 32-bit operative system Microsoft Windows (9X, ME, NT, 2000, XP). By using DCM technology, data (objects) could be exchanged with other operative systems as well, for example with UNIX or Linux. OPC creates standard set of interfaces, characteristics and methods for process control and automatic software applications.
We enable connecting of systems with unique database. Structured Query Language (SQL) is a standard language, which is used for receiving and sending of data into system for database management (DBMS – Data Based Management Systems). In DBMS systems data are saved so that each row in a table possesses one record of information. When application seeks information from the database, we send a request on information by SQL language.Database programme processes SQL request, seeks desired information, and returns it to the application. SQL facilitates updating of database, deletion of the old data, and modification of previously saved ones. SQL is designed to save data in user defined tables. Data are of current value of I/O points, or of another quoted value. Data from DBMS change continued values of I/O points very simply.

LOTO PROCEDURE 7/7

In modern industrial system with a large machine and capacity for which exploitation is needed a large number of personnel of various professional profiles, there is a need to raise the security level to a higher level where we tend to risk of injury to employees or contractors reduced to the smallest measure with the minimum proportion of the human factor. Each company has edited documents on security and persons who are directly responsible to take care of safety rules and procedures. One of these procedures is called LOTO procedures.
Lockout - tagout (LOTO) is a security procedure that is used in industry to ensure staff also exploited, or who performs a service on the machine or plant.
The procedure involves recording and identifying energy sources on the machine on the basis of which we can define document that represents the LOTO procedure.
The document refers to a particular machine and contains several parts of which we can extract the location of machines, necessary equipment, risk assessment and description of the isolation of energy. At the end it define the procedure to unlock and release operation of the equipment.
Equipment for LOTO procedures must be attested with a certain certificates and for this reason is used leading equipment manufacturers such as Brady and Masterlock. According to the facts at our disposal we responsibly claim that the LOTO procedures greatly reduce the risk of injury at work.
